Have the property details ready
- The property address, postcode and block reference.
- Where water appears, when it started and how urgent it is.
- The affected flats or communal systems.
- Who can coordinate access and any known restrictions.
Discuss the scope and next steps
Explain what has been observed and any previous investigations or repairs. Keep suspected causes separate from confirmed findings.
Confirm the survey scope, price, access arrangements and attendance with the provider. A phone enquiry does not automatically confirm a booking or dispatch an investigator.
For an immediate danger, use the building’s emergency arrangements.
Prepare for the visit
Keep the correct contracting and billing details, purchase order and any claim reference available if needed. Share only resident information necessary for the investigation.
